STEP 1 | PRESCRIPTION

STEP 1

Have your prescription on hand. Having a prescription that is not out of date is important for good visual clarity.

STEP 2 | SELECTING A FRAME

STEP 2

When selecting a frame style, you should consider the size measurement.
  • Eye size
  • Bridge size
  • Temple size
If you currently have a pair of glasses, you can look at the inner side of one side temple to see the written size. The size will look like this 52-18-140. The first number is the eye size. The second number is the bridge size (the distance between the lenses). The third number is the side temple length. If the writing is worn off you can use a ruler with millimeters to measure your frame. The eye size is the most useful measurement (the horizontal width of one lens) and will best guide you in your decision to: stay about the same size, or go larger or smaller. Many brands calculate their sizes in a slightly different way so going up or down by 1 or 2 mm is usually not a significant difference.

Shape and Color

Shape

Frames today come in many different shapes. There is not really a definitive rule for which shape is best for so many different facial shapes. We have found that our customers have great instincts for choosing the frame shape they prefer best.

Color

You may already know what frame color you prefer. If not, while browsing the frames, you may find a bold solid color or even a multi-color piece you are really drawn to. Go for it!  Vintage or trendy modern color, the choice is yours.

STEP 3 | SELECTING LENS DESIGN

STEP 3

Lensotic offers three different types of lens designs.

Single Vision Distance

This is the most commonly ordered lens type for everyone under age 45. Great for all focusing lengths both far and near for that age group.

Single Vision Reading Only

This single vision design is for people that need bifocal correction for reading up close but prefer to use reading-only glasses versus a multi-focal bifocal lens.

Progressive No-Line Bifocal

This bifocal lens design allows those who need a bifocal to see both far distance and up close reading all in only one pair of glasses. This high-definition lens is considered the latest up-to-date technology in lens design by bifocal wearers.

STEP 4 | SELECT LENS MATERIAL

STEP 4

1.50 Standard Index

This basic lens material is good for very low prescriptions where weight and thickness are not a concern. Not available to be used on semi rimless or drilled frame styles.

1.59 Polycarbonate

This material is slightly thinner than 1.50 standard index and is very durable.

1.60 High Index

A very durable lens material that can be used on over 90% of all prescriptions. Very good optical clarity, good thinness, reduces lens weight and thickness.

1.67 Super Thin Index

This lens material is good for those who have moderate to strong prescriptions and want their lenses as thin and lightweight as possible.

STEP 5 | SELECT LENS OPTIONS

STEP 5

Photochromic

Select this option if you want your lenses to transition from clear to dark when you go outside.

Anti Reflective Coating

An anti reflective coating provides for glare protection from all light sources. This coating is also very beneficial for driving at night.

Blue Light Protection

This option helps to protect the eyes from high energy blue light which is emitted from electronic devices including smart phones, computer screens, and television sets.

STEP 6 | SUBMIT PAYMENT
